Dear Senator Ryan
By Author: C.M. HALL
This book is a series of letters to written Senator Paul Ryan from his #1 Groupie, praising his budget proposal for its bold ideas on issues like defense (we need to protect those defense industry profits. Our brave members of the military deserve no less!), taxes (Raising taxes to help pay down the national debt is such a stupid idea! That will just destroy the economic recovery that the Bush tax cuts will create any time now.) and entitlements (If a person is seriously hurt in a car accident, it’s their responsibility to know which hospital to be rushed to so they can get the best value for their healthcare dollar.) We should all embrace his Path to Prosperity, the path that our Founding Fathers intended all Americans to take except for women and slaves and anyone who didn’t own property.

UnSold Souls
By Author: ERIN SCHULTZ
In the Russian Empire, before the emancipation of the serfs/souls in 1861, landowners had the right to own serfs/souls to farm their land. Serfs/souls were for most purposes considered the property of the landowner, who could buy, sell or mortgage them, as any other chattel. To count serfs/souls (and people in general), the measure word “soul” was used: e.g., “six souls of serfs”. The plot of the novel relies on “dead souls” (i.e., “dead serfs”) which are still accounted for in property registers.
